In these uncertain times, it can be inspiring to hear some hopeful advice from others. I decided to go on a platform which allows me to talk to strangers from all over the world. I had some incredible conversations that really made me think. I asked some of the people that I met on there (from countries all over the world) what their most valuable life lesson is that they have learned so far. I thought it was extremely insightful to see what people appreciate in life and what therefore is the most important to them. I felt like it was time to get back to the basics; back to the things that actually matter and make a difference. I told people that I find it significant to stop for a second and reflect upon everything you have been through so far; what actually changed you and helped you to get where you are today and is still contributing to developing yourself as a person? It is good to focus on the moment in the fast-paced world we currently live in, and ask ourselves what it is that we value in our day to day life. The simplicity yet vulnerability of the answers touched me. These are the answers I received:
Treat people the way you desire to be treated.
Do not take anything for granted.
People change people, be aware of this.
Always have a great attitude, even though there will be people who do not like you.
Never forget the lessons you learned, you learned them for a reason.
Live and love the people that love you.
Success does not come to the ones with fame, fame comes to the ones that are successful.
Everything in life happens for a reason.
Whatever happens just happens, do not try to influence it and let it go.
Be yourself, fully.
Do not be rude to others, when the cause of your behavior lies within yourself.
Respect your parents, love them as much as possible and be grateful for what they have done/do for you.
Do not change for others, if you want to change, do it for you.
See the good in people, but do not trust everyone right away.
Love your life the best you can and smile while doing so.
Always be positive, even when you seem to be surrounded by negativity; the light will come to you.
Live in the moment and do not waste your present worrying about your future or being stuck in the past.
Speak up when you know that something is wrong.
Do not take good days for granted.
Let go of the people that don’t treat you the way you should be treated and surround yourself with people that put in as much effort in your relationship as you do.
You are not the one that is busy, your life is not busy, your mind is just busy.
When people asked me what my answer to the question would be, I answered with the following: “treat people with kindness, love, respect and trust yourself and speak up about topics you find important”. The question I asked these strangers is not an easy one, on the contrary. I therefore really appreciate the fact that they took the time out of their day to answer this question for me. I hope I made them think and gave them some insights on what truly matters in life. These people inspired me and learned me some new things too. I hope you experience the same by reading this blog.
I would love to hear what your most valuable life lesson is so far. Let me know in the comments down below.
Thank you for reading this blog and I hope you have a lovely day.
Stay healthy, stay safe.
Lots of love,
